NEO is a celebration of and a love letter to the neo-burlesque revival in New York City! Featuring legendary nightlife performers and neo-burlesque innovators including Dirty Martini, Bambi the Mermaid, Alyssa Kitt, Mr. Gorgeous, Little Brooklyn, Nyx Nocturn, Mia Julep, & Dr. Lucky. Hosted by the one and only Miss Astrid (Master of Ceremonies & Producer, Va Va Voom Room).

All the shenanigans, all the irreverence, all the fun you have come to expect and love in neo-burlesque! This is serious art wrapped up in fun packaging, an elixir that makes the most biting social commentary sweet to consume. Neo-burlesque provides a stage where radical ideas can be imaged and staged in glorious, spectacular, exuberant, shiny, excessive ways, inviting us all to put glitter on our scars and join the revolution!

This show will bring to the stage performers and concepts discussed in Lynn Sally’s recent book about the neo revival in New York City, Neo-Burlesque: Striptease as Transformation (Rutgers University Press, 2022), hailed a “a smart, feminist tour de force…. A must read!” by Annie Sprinkle & Beth Stephens. Copies of the book will be available for purchase and signing at the show.
