Cemetery Cinema: The Phantom of the Opera

  • Coney Island USA 1208 Surf Avenue Brooklyn, NY, 11224 United States (map)

Hosted by Carnivore AD frontman / comic book writer Baron Misuraca, CEMETERY CINEMA returns to Coney Island on Thursday, December 8th for its sixth installment - a shocking high definition screening event of THE PHANTOM OF THE OPERA

Faithfully adapted from Gaston Leroux's mystery novel and directed by Rupert Julian, The Phantom of the Opera was released in 1925 from Universal Pictures as a showcase for its legendary, “man of a thousand faces” Lon Chaney, who had two years earlier starred as Quasimodo in Universal's Hunchback of Notre Dame.

In The Phantom of the Opera, Lon Chaney stars in the title role of the disfigured Phantom who haunts the Paris Opera House, causing murder and mayhem in an attempt to make the woman he loves (played by Mary Philbin) a star.

An enduring classic, the film remains most famous for Chaney's ghastly, self-devised make-up, which was kept a studio secret until the film's premiere.

After our screening concludes, a question and answer audience discussion, frightening facts segment and live monstrous music will follow!

Join us - if you dare!

All ticket sales are non-refundable and WILL CALL only to be picked up night of performance, at our box office at 1208 Surf Avenue. TICKETS WILL NOT SHIP. There are no extra service fees for online purchase.
