It’s the Coney Island Burlesque Intensive Showcase! See these performers bump, grind, shimmy, and twirl through routines they’ve developed in this famous workshop series.
Under the guidance of Headmistress Jo Weldon, these students have spent the past six weeks developing all-new, never-before-seen numbers. With added insights from guest lecturers Angie Pontani, Queerly Femmetastic, and Jonny Porkpie, they’ve come up with their own concepts, chosen their own music, assembled their own costumes, and developed their own choreography. Some of them are performing burlesque for the very first time, anywhere, ever. And you can see them before anyone else!
Burlesque encourages the ultimate independent performing experience, requiring performers to create the burlesque they want to see in the world. Get ready for the freshest burlesque in all the boroughs, right here on the storied stage at Coney Island USA!
